Jamie Rood

Jamie received her primary training in Northern California from instructors affiliated with the San Francisco Ballet and The New York City Ballet Company. 

As a member of Rhythm N'Motion Performing Company, she traveled around California participating in National Conventions, and is well versed in competitive ballet, lyrical and jazz.

Jamie began teaching after completing a competitive teacher's training program in 2005 and later moved to Seattle and received her Bachelors of Arts with a major in dance in December of 2011 from the University of Washington.

1. How long have you been teaching?
I've been teaching for 8 years

2. What made you want to be a teacher?
I love sharing my passion for dance and getting the chance to use my past & knowledge to grow and challenge students. 

3. What are your teaching philosophies?
To treat every student as kings and queens. I want to try to assist in making better people, not just better dancers.
I strive to make a fun learning environment where students can fall in love with dancing, build their self confidence, and have fun. 

4. What kind of music do you listen to when not teaching?
Singer/song writer or Country

5. What non-dancing hobbies do you have?
Media/production at my church: I work with lights, audio, camera and graphics operators to produce our services.
